International Day of Caves and the Subterranean World

To celebrate the International Day of Caves and the Subterranean World, the caves of Sare unite with the French Federation of Speleology by offering you an exhibition of the Departmental Committee of Speleology of Pyrénées-Atlantiques (CDS64), allowing you to better know this activity and the possibilities offered in our region !
The exhibition is visible at the caves of Sare from June 3 to 11, 2023, every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

During the weekend of June 10 and 11, we are also organizing a contest to win entries for a special visit focused on the biospeleogy of the caves of Sare, accompanied by specialist Jacques Chauvin. A great opportunity to discover the caves of Sare off course!

Our first conference will be held on May 26, during the National Geology Days, and will therefore address... the geology of the caves of Xareta (cross-border territory comprising Sare, Ainhoa, Zugarramurdi, Urdax/Urdazubi)!

The geologist Pierre MAURIAUD from the CPIE Littoral basque will offer us a comparison of the 3 caves of Xareta, then take us on a short exploration of the Lezea cave.

The evening is free and open to all, upon registration.
